Wulf, Andreas
Andreas Wulf, known as Andrew by his associates, was born at Dinkel, Samara, Russia, on September 4, 1871. Raised on his family farm by his parents, Andrew and Marie E. Gleim Wulf, he married Anna Busick on December 25, 1891. After farming in Russia until 1899, he immigrated to Lincoln, Nebraska, where he worked for the B. and M. Railway before settling in Fresno, California, on December 5, 1900.
In Fresno, Andreas supervised M. Archibald olive factory for four years before purchasing and developing a twenty-acre ranch at Rolinda in 1907. He expanded his agricultural holdings by adding forty acres northwest of Rolinda and twenty-five acres on Shields Avenue, planting Thompson seedless grapes, peaches, apricots, and alfalfa. The father of nine children, he served three years as president of the Congregational Church board of trustees in Fresno and helped open early roads as a key pioneer of the Rolinda district.
