Tucker, F.
F. Tucker was born near Greeley, Kansas, on November 5, 1879, where he grew up and received his early education. In August 1911, he moved to California, settling initially in Fresno to work for a local Ford agent for one year. Recognizing the potential of the region, he relocated to Selma, California, to establish his own independent Ford agency and automobile dealership.
In Selma, Mr. Tucker expanded his business rapidly, building the town’s largest garage at Second and West Front Streets to display Ford autos, Fordson tractors, and accessories. Married in Kansas to Levora Reynolds, with whom he had two children named Florence and Frederick, he constructed a suburban home northwest of Selma. His expertise and strong sales record made his agency one of the most prosperous enterprise branches on the Pacific Coast.
