Rehorn, Frank
Frank Rehorn, born in New York City on November 18, 1862, was a widely known contractor and builder who achieved great success in Fresno, California. He moved to Tennessee with his parents, H. W. and Margaret Shields Rehorn, when he was fourteen years old and completed his education across both states. At nineteen, he left home to work at the builders trade in Kansas before permanently settling in Fresno at the age of twenty-five. His exceptional construction skills were quickly recognized as he built the town principal structures, including the Patterson business and office block, the Fresno Republican building, and the Telephone building.
On November 24, 1890, Mr. Rehorn married Miss Myrtle Conrad and eventually constructed a beautiful family home. They raised two children, Helen M. Rehorn and Ralph L. Rehorn, the latter becoming a University of California graduate who worked at the Union National Bank. Civically, he was a dedicated Republican who worked hard for clean politics and participated actively in Protestant church life. He was also highly involved in fraternal organizations, including the Masons, Shriners, Woodmen of the World, and the Elks. Upon his passing on August 31, 1916, he left behind a modest fortune and was deeply mourned by the community he helped build.
