Jensen, Albert
Born in 1885, Albert Jensen spent his upbringing in Fresno County, attending school in the Elkhorn district after his parents, Henry and Melinda (Paul) Jensen, relocated from Washington Territory to California in 1890. At the age of eighteen, Jensen partnered with his older brother Harvey to purchase 142½ acres east of Burrel. Upon dividing the property, he acquired a 70-acre stock ranch on the south side of the Elkhorn Grade Road, developing it into a highly valuable agricultural holding.
In March 1918, Jensen married Gladys Hopkins of Fresno. Anticipating military service following the 1918 draft call, he leased his home ranch for five years and took over the management of an 80-acre vineyard at Bowles. Fraternally affiliated with the Modern Woodmen of America, Jensen established himself as a progressive, industrious rancher and esteemed figure within the local farming community.
