Holm, Falle P.
Born in Kolding, Denmark, in 1886, Falle P. “Fred” Holm completed his education in his native land before immigrating to the United States in 1904. After initially laboring on grain and alfalfa ranches in Kings and Fresno counties, he returned to Denmark in 1908 to visit family and attend the Vallekille High School. Upon his return to California, he furthered his commercial education at Atterdag College in Santa Barbara County, becoming proficient in both English and Danish.
In 1914, Holm purchased a twenty-acre property west of Parlier, which he successfully developed into a highly productive ranch generating substantial yields. He married Frederickke Thomsen in April 1914, and together they raised three sons: Carl P., Walter M., and Arthur L. Active in his local community, Holm served as secretary for the Danish Church, supported President Woodrow Wilson as a naturalized citizen, and gained recognition as a progressive agriculturalist in Fresno County.
