Guglielmoni, Charles
Charles Guglielmoni, born in Switzerland in 1877, left home at age nine to support his widowed mother before migrating to California in 1891 to join his older brother. Arriving in Santa Rosa, he found immediate employment on a dairy farm, where his industrious nature allowed him to master every facet of the business, including butter and cheese manufacturing. Armed with years of practical experience, he relocated to Fresno County in 1903 to establish his own independent agricultural footprint.
Guglielmoni purchased a ninety-acre property located two miles north of Burrel, transforming it into a highly developed estate featuring an active cheese factory and modern pumping infrastructure. In Fresno, he married Idaho native Mary Baker, and together they overcame personal hardships while raising five children in a comfortable, prosperous home environment. A highly enterprising and respected citizen, Guglielmoni became widely celebrated throughout the community as a self-made pioneer who triumphed over early adversity.
