Georgesen, Harvey H.
Harvey H. Georgeson, born in Berlin, Wisconsin, in 1887, migrated west to Fresno County with his parents in 1895. Raised in the Madison school district, he spent his youth learning viticulture and general ranching before working for several years in logging and stationary engineering across California lumber camps. On New Year’s Day in 1912, he married Clara V. Hansen, a native of Malaga, and soon shifted his primary focus back to independent agricultural pursuits.
Following his marriage, Georgeson purchased a twenty-acre ranch at the corner of Madison and Braly avenues, where he successfully established a premium grape vineyard. He built a personal residence alongside functional farm buildings and joined the California Associated Raisin Company as both an active member and a stockholder. Additionally, he has dedicated the past six years to maintaining local infrastructure by operating a heavy sixty-horsepower engine for the county’s first road district.
