Begole, Frank
Frank Begole, born in Medina, New York, on December 11, 1874, was a dedicated tradesman who established a successful career in the business life of Fresno, California. After receiving his education locally, he began making his own way at the age of fifteen by learning the plumbing trade. He gained extensive experience working across various American cities, including Buffalo, Chicago, St. Louis, and Denver, and even operated his own shop in Moscow, Idaho, before moving to California in 1902. His journey westward reflects the experiences of many skilled professionals who traveled across the country to contribute to the growth of developing communities during the turn of the century.
Upon settling in Fresno in 1911, Frank built a prominent contracting plumbing business that specialized in fine residential installations and school projects throughout the region. Beyond his professional achievements, he was an active community member, participating in fraternal organizations such as the Odd Fellows and the Red Men of Fresno. He also invested in the local agricultural economy by developing a ten acre ranch near the city dedicated to growing Thompson seedless grapes and figs. Through his modern craftsmanship and commitment to civic and business development, Frank earned the lasting respect and confidence of his fellow citizens.
